When we first rolled into Majestic Oak RV Resort (298 TX-188, Rockport, TX), dusk was settling under ancient oaks, and the entire place felt like stepping into a quiet woodland retreat. The concrete pads were level, and each site had generous space — no feeling of being packed in. The kids were already peering out the windows in excitement, and our golden retriever, Daisy, was sniffing eagerly at the new surroundings.

We set up camp, hooked up water and electric (they offer full hookups, 30/50 amp) and then took a stroll to the resort’s amenities. The dog park (about 2,500 sq ft) with agility ramp and teeter-totter was an immediate hit for Daisy — she dashed in, tail wagging, while the kids laughed at her antics. Majestic Oaks Resort -

That night we cooked a simple one-pot dinner: sausage, chopped bell peppers, onion, and new potatoes all roasted together with olive oil, salt, and seasoning — easy in a dutch oven or foil packet over the campfire. After dinner, we walked as a family to the clubhouse and lingered by the hot tub, listening to crickets and relishing that feeling of being “away.” It was a gentle, inviting start to our stay.
