One afternoon, I packed a cooler and we drove down to a scenic gulf inlet near Rockport. We spread beach blankets, and had turkey & pesto sandwiches, sliced tomatoes, cheese, olives, and lemonade.

Kids gathered shells, and grandparents relaxed shaded under umbrellas. The dogs (with leashes) sniffed the shoreline. After lunch, we waded, splashed, and took quiet walks.

On our return, we stopped at a local ice cream stand for cones and then strolled through Rockport’s downtown shops. We ended the day with a quiet fire and s’mores in camp.
